Melanie Fine, founder of Chem in 10, earned her degree in Chemistry from Cornell University in 1987. In addition, she possesses a California single-subject secondary teaching credential in Chemistry and Physics. She has received recognition and honors as a teacher, being named an Amgen Fellow of the National Science Teachers Association, a Fellow of the College Board in AP Chemistry and the recipient of the American Vacuum Society’s prestigious low pressure educator grant. She teaches Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and Physics at Coachella Valley High School in Thermal, California. She also holds a Masters Degree in Sacred Music.
She is the single mother of Max, and the two of them live in Indio, California.
